Last week i managed to get TWO (count 'em TWO) slideshow's up!! Can you believe it? i can hardly believe it myself. If you missed them, you can see the Trip to Tripoli slideshow here and the String Theory v.IV: Creative Genesis (Guest post by Sue Jacobs) slideshow here! it's a work in progress, and i appreciate all of your patience! There are a few exciting things coming up for this challenge... i don't want to give anything away, just want to BUILD the excitement!! WOO!! is it building? good. There's a new feature in the works, as well as maybe /possibly a giveaway... who knows.... oooh, i can just TASTE the anticipation... tastes like candy. mmm. candy.
Can you believe that this is the last Monday of August? i mean, CAN YOU?? Somehow the summer has just slipped by, but we're doing the best we can to cram in some fun times. My grandmother happened to be in town this week for her 75th birthday. She's 75, my Mom is 53 and i'm 31...and Chewie is 3...,
so Grandma, Mom, the boys and I went to the zoo Monday afternoon. (Please note, when i say ZOO in Saskatchewan, i should mention it's the Zoo at the Forestry Farm, so it's animals like Deer, and Elk, and Cariboo, and Bison - while they do have two lions and a monkey house, the focus is on Prairie type animals). I've lived in Saskatchewan for 16 years or so, give or take, and i've never been to the zoo here before. It was pretty fun, but super hot out. Chewie liked riding the train and feeding the deer with great grandma. Artoo mostly slept.

Okay, enough of the mush - if you've made it this far, congratulations! let's get on with the THIRTY-SEVENTH weekly challenge!!
Weekly Challenge #37: "Kiss my Grids"
i have to give B-rad props because i was originally going to call this challenge "off the grid" but he said: "you should call it kiss my grids!" and so i did.
It brings back fond memories of that sitcom from the 70s about the Diner... what was that called? there was Mel the cook, and i think Alice... and that red-head Flo who's signature line was, "Mel, Kiss my grits." My brothers and i used to watch that show in syndication back in the 80s. we had no idea what grits were, but we loved Flo. (Come to think of it, i'm still not sure what grits are... perhaps one of you out there can enlightened my niave Canadian self?)
So the challenge is to use all Grid based tangles in your tile or Zentangle Inspired Art. And there's a whole bunch of 'em.
To do mine, i drew my string and then with my Micron i drew a grid across the entire tile - and chose two different grid based tangles to fill in the gaps.
If you have a blog, add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here)
Also, please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)
If you don't have a blog but still want to participate, you can email your tile to me and i will post it here. (See the contact tab above for my email address)
The deadline for each weekly challenge is Saturday night so that i can round everyone up by Sunday. What this means is that i will stop adding tiles to the slideshow on Sunday. You're still more than welcome to do the challenges and add your name to the linkey machine.
I will be more diligent with the linkey machine - by editing out the ones that don't work, the doubles, the links that lead to nowhere, the links that go just to blog home pages (this is why we need those site specific urls), and the spam. And there is some spam. :(
