  • Please grab the button for the Weekly Challenge (on the right  sidebar) to display on your blogs! share the fun!
  • The limit of submissions to the slideshow is TWO, but please feel free to post as many as you like to your blogs.  I will take the first two presented to each challenge.
  • I know that some of you have told me that the paypal button does not work, and some of you have had no trouble, i'm not sure why it's inconsistent, i've redone the code a few times... If all else fails you can donate to my paypal address which is madam_diva ( a t ) yahoo ( d o t ) com

Happy Monday Morning everyone...

In case you missed it, my third post is up on the ArtistCellar blog.

Another week in the bag here at Casa Diva.  I apologize for pushing the challenge back a day, but i really am feeling much better today.

Last weekend we took the kids out to our friends' farm, about an hour and a half away.  Even though Artoo has been sick all week (as well as myself), he didn't seem to be getting any worse and it had been almost a year since we had been out there so we decided to try.  We were very excited to go.

As a testament to the good times we had, i have hardly any pictures.  We didn't do much, but the visiting was pretty awesome, and playing games after the kids were in bed.

I did get a photo of these amazing  Beignets that Amber, our hostesss, prepared for breakfast on Sunday.  So delicious.

Also on Sunday morning, Ryan - our host - asked if i'd like to go shoot some guns.  I have never held a gun in my life, (other than my brothers BB gun when i was a kid) let alone shoot one.  So i said YES, and we went out to the "shootin' range".

I think i was a pretty good shot! I now have increased faith in my own ability should there ever be a zombie apocalypse.
Ryan's a proud teacher, i'm a shootin the 22
It was a lot more fun than i was anticipating!!  I got to shoot the .22, the .22 semiautomatic, and an SKS Semiautomatic Rifle.

gettin' ready to shoot the zombies!
B-rad even got a few rounds out.  It was surprisingly fun!

Here's a photo of the kids in the back of the van, thoroughly exhausted.  A sign of a good weekend, no?

Weekly Challenge #137: "Duotangle - Knights over Tipple"
I confess, i hardly ever use Knightsbridge in my tiles, i'm not sure why.  Maybe it's because it so obviously looks like a checkerboard?  And as we already know, Tipple is one of my go-to tangles.

I thought that pairing these too tangles together would be interesting, as one is so obviously squares, and the other is circles.

Circles vs Square
I'm undecided on this tile, i think i could probably do better - BUT, my own personal challenge is to post the first tile, every time.  I really think i could explore the contrasts better than i did. Oh well.

If you'd like a little knightsbridge inspiration, you NEED to check out this great post by my fellow Saskatoon CZT Margaret Bremner!
If you have a blog, add the site-specific URL where your tile is posted to the linkey machine below! Don't forget to link back here so that others can join in the fun! (if you don't know how to find this, you can see my half assed tutorial here)

Also,  please feel free to come back often and visit the links of those people on the linkey machine - don't forget to leave a comment or feedback, everyone loves feedback. ;)

If you don't have a blog but still want to participate, you can email your tile to me and i will post it here. (please send your submissions to weeklychallenge at mail dot com.... Not gmail, just mail... there started to be too many submissions in my personal mail box.  If you have a question or need clarification, please email me at the contact information provided above, but all submissions should go to the mail.com address...thank you!! sorry for any confusion).  I just ask that you put in the subject line:  Challenge # ________

The "deadline" for each weekly challenge is Saturday night so that i can round everyone up by Sunday. What this means is that i will stop adding tiles to the slideshow on Sunday. You're still more than welcome to do the challenges and add your name to the linkey machine.
I will be more diligent with the linkey machine - by editing out the ones that don't work, the doubles, the links that lead to nowhere, the links that go just to blog home pages (this is why we need those site specific urls), and the spam. And there is some spam.  PLEASE do not put your *home* page in the linkey machine... please? for me??

  1. I think you did do a good job Laura! Especially at the right there is great depth in it.

  2. I was watching World War Z last night telling my husband if there's an apocalypse that he should just get rid of me to give him and the kids a fighting chance. I have no survival skills, including knowing how to fire a gun, and would be dead weight. You're an inspiration for me to change this.

  8. I love Tipple, but haven't used KnightsBridge very much lately. It would probably never occur to me to use these 2 together, so thanks for the push. Not sure how I did with them this time, but I will try another.
