Weekly Challenge #234

Happy Tuesday Morning everyone!

I hope i didn't confuse anyone,  but in the past i have taken the long weekends off.  Usually i put up a quick post letting everyone know what's up, but i forgot this time.  I'm still getting back into the swing of things i guess.

So, the big question on everyone's mind?? how was the first day of school?
He's so unbelievably adorable.
Consistent with previous years, he still wants to be a teacher of some sort.

Look Out!!

i honestly can't get enough of this picture.
Like, he's only 7 but i can see what he'll look like as a teen, y'know?
Chewie and Artoo started the day with the annual required Photo Shoot.
Bona Fide! His word, not mine!
Seriously, is he not the cutest ever?

here he comes...

i just wanna kiss that little face...
leading up to school Artoo was a little apprehensive, but he came down the stairsTuesday morning shouting: "It's KINDERGARTEN DAY TODAY!!!"

Brotherly Love.

In exchange for one 'nice photo' i let them take the goofy ones after.
By now, first day of school for Chewie is old hat, but everything was new and exciting for Artoo.  We hugged Chewie and said goodbye after meeting his new Grade 2 teacher, then we headed for Artoo's classroom.  He was happy to be there and walked right up to his teacher and said HELLO! then looked back at me and cheerfully waved: "Goodbye Mom!"

LOL so cute.

It was only registration day for him though, so we only stayed for an hour.  But his first actual day on Friday went really well.  His EA (Educational Assistant) is really great and i think they will work really well together.  On Friday his teacher asked moms and dads to stay for an hour and then to leave and come back at the end of the day... so when i told Artoo i was going to leave he got a little worried, at first.  But then i told him that this was the part of kindergarten where all the moms and dads go home.  And that i will be RIGHT THERE to pick him up when his class was over, and he decided he was okay with that.

The house felt mighty empty until i went back to pick him up.  But he told me he made 2 new friends and played with cars on the car matt, and painted a picture, and played on the playground.  So, all in all, a pretty amazing first day.

Friday was also B-rad and my 11th Wedding Anniversary.
still in love after all these years.
Our long weekend was really cold and wet - but we did manage to get outside for a walk and a bike ride.  It was 10C/50F - and it was a reminder that Winter is Coming.... hold on to your butts!! lol
BRRRRR
B-rad and i celebrated our anniversary at our favourite Mexican Place on Sunday night, and then went to see Jurassic World.  It was a pretty good night.

Tres enchiladas por favor.

So many little kids in the theatre for Jurassic World....
Enjoy your nightmares, children.
So that's been my week.  How was yours?

Weekly Challenge #234: UMT - CanT by Chris Titus, CZT
One of the great things that came out of CanTangle this summer was the discovery of a new and amazing tangle during one of the workshops.  The tangle is called CanT (CanTangle) and it was discovered and shared by Chris Titus.

me and Chris
Chris was very excited to meet me at CanTangle.  She was so funny and so sweet.  It was really my pleasure to meet her.

Usually the first monday of the month is when i share a tangle created by one of YOU, but i emailed Chris and i asked if i could share her tangle with y'all - and lucky us... she said yes!

CanT by Chris Titus

CanT is built using the tangle "Floorz" as the base.  Or the floor, if you will.  It's SOOOO versatile and there are so many ways to make this tangle amazing.  You won't be saying you "CanT" do it, cuz it's so easy too!

Tile by Chris Titus
One of my favourite things to do with grid based patterns is to "wonky" them up... so here's my tile.
a CanT Globe.

Always posting my first try.... i like it. But if i had to do it again i'd make my squares bigger.  My eyes were getting a little buggy by the end there.
Have a great week everyone!

  10. Lovely photos of the boys. I've been puzzling over who the 6th photo reminds me of and it has just come to me. It's Brains from Thunderbirds! I mean the original Thunderbirds, not sure about the recent incarnation.
