Weekly Challenge #266

Happy Monday everyone!

This week my two wonderful boys performed in their year end Piano Recitals!!

Chewie played a very beautiful piece called "Haunted Harp" - he's really done well this year.  This was his third piano recital - but it was still very exciting for him!

Piano Recital for year 3 - in the bag!!
This year, we were so excited for Artoo to play in his first ever piano recital.  He was so very excited about it, and he called both his grandparents to ask if they'd like to come, and also if they'd like to take him out for ice cream afterwards.  LOL Cheeky Monkey.   He did an amazing job, and he's come a long way this year!
First Piano Recital EVER!
B-rad and i are so proud of our boys.  While sometimes it's a struggle to get them to practice, we just love how much they love music.  (even if Chewie would deny it if you ask him)

With the arrival of great weather, we spent a lot of time outside this weekend - and that means SIDEWALK ART!!

Chewie's getting his Nintendo on.

Artoo drew an ocean.
And with this beautiful weather comes Deck Time!! We ate our breakfast on the deck yesterday morning and watched the birds flit from branch to branch.

I love these boys.
The Breakfast Club
And now we're into May! It's so hard to believe that the school year is almost over for these kids, and that Artoo is almost FINISHED KINDERGARTEN!?  Time is going crazy fast.

Weekly Challenge #266: "UMT - Crux by Henrike Bratz"
Because today is the first Monday of the month - that means it's time for a Use My Tangle challenge where i feature a tangle created by one of you!  If you have a tangle you'd like to have us try you can read the guidelines here.

For me, UMT challenges are great because they give me a reason to try out tangles i might not have a chance to try out.  This week's Challenge is called Crux and the step outs can be found here.

This tangle is a bit on the higher focus side of things.  In fact, i had to start over because i totally missed a step when i tried the first time.  (Don't worry, i'll come back and finish that tile another time).

This tangle uses the Hollibaugh method of drawing behind, and also is built off the tangle bales.  There's lots of room for play here, so enjoy it!

here's my tile for this week's challenge!!

  10. Thanks again for another great challenge Laura. As usual, when it comes to grid based tangles, especially ones with a specific set of steps beyond one, I am totally incapable of following instructions. Maybe I'll change, maybe not.

  11. Your little boys are also talented in drawing...and they seem to love super Mario :)...Crux is a beautiful pattern, but I agree with the dudz- following instructions and building geometrical patterns is hard for me, but I finished...yeah...
